Founded in 1958, The Chamber Music Society of Wellesley College provides opportunities for interested instrumentalists and vocalists to prepare and perform works for small mixed ensembles.
Each chamber group receives weekly coachings from a member of the Wellesley College Music Department, and performs on one of several concerts held at the end of each semester. With over twenty participating ensembles each term, a wide variety of styles and instrumentation is always available to performers and listeners alike!
Entrance to CMS is by audition, so if you’ve never participated before and would like to join, contact the director, David Russell, atdrussell@wellesley.edu. Brief sightreading may be required.
CMS is privileged to have an extensive and invaluable Board of Student Officers (E-Board). For more details, please click on the “CMS Officers” link under the "Chamber Music Society" tab.
It is possible to take CMS as a class for credit. If you are interested in pursuing this option, please return to the "Chamber Music Society" tab and click on "CMS Credit" for more information.
