波士顿地区最多才多艺的音乐家,凯瑟琳Matasy已经被《波士顿环球报》形容为“一个音乐家的深度和细化”和“燃烧技术;其他评论家称赞她的表演是“引人入胜”,“引人入胜的”,“聪明”和“一种罕见的壮举。”As clarinetist and bass clarinetist in chamber music and orchestra settings, "doubler" in musical theater (flute, piccolo and saxophones), and classical accordionist, she has performed with most of the region's major musical organizations, including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Pops, Boston Symphony Chamber Players, Handel and Haydn Society, Boston Lyric Opera, Emmanuel Music, Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, Huntington Theater, and American Repertory Theater, among others. Highly regarded as an interpreter of new music, she is a founding member of Dinosaur Annex and a frequent performer with Boston's many new-music groups. Matasy has long-standing faculty appointments at Wellesley College (clarinet, saxophone, chamber music), New England Conservatory Preparatory School, and the Community Music Center of Boston. She can be heard in recordings of orchestral and chamber music on CRI, Newport Classic, Centaur, Northeastern, Erato, Albany, Bridge, Naxos, and RCA. Matasy received her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from New England Conservatory.
