Jewish Studies Writing Prize

An annual prize will be awarded to an especially distinguished piece of academic or creative writing treating an aspect of Jewish history or culture, submitted by a student in their first, second, or third year of studies at the college. Up to two awards will be given to first, second, or third year students.

Jewish Studies Senior Writing Prize

This annual prize will be awarded to an especially distinguished piece of academic or creative writing treating an aspect of Jewish history or culture submitted by a graduating senior.Up to two prizes will be awarded.

The deadline to apply is April 15, 2022 at 11:59pm EST!

What are the requirements?
  • 论文不需要have been written for Jewish Studies courses, or for courses at all.

  • Onlyone submissionwill be accepted per student.

  • Conventional papers should be typed and documented with footnotes and bibliography.

  • Students are welcome to submit writing in unconventional genres and formats (including comics, illustrated essays, or audio or video essays).

  • Please do not includeyour name or any other identifying informationin the body of the submission.

How do I apply?
  • When you are ready to submit, please fill out theJewish Studies Writing Prize applicationand include your submission.
  • The online form will allow you to upload your submission as a PDF, or to provide a link to a larger file.
  • Submissions will be read by faculty as anonymous submissions, and personal information about the submitters will not be available until after winners are selected. Prized will be announced and awarded in May. The winners of the senior prizes will be announced at commencement.
When is the deadline?

Applications are due by April 15, 2022 at 11:59pm EST (Boston time).
